Morphology
Posted by Administrator under GenerativeI just received the book Morpho-Ecologies today; it is graphically rich in its monochromatic layout and explores the role that mutation and speciation plays in Natural Systems and Ecologies, and the implications for design strategies and processes in Architecture. Edited by Michael Hensel and Achim Menges. Published by the AA Architecture School.

OpenSceneGraph
Posted by Administrator under Open SourceOpenSceneGraph is an open source high performance 3D graphics toolkit, used by application developers in fields such as visual simulation, computer games, virtual reality, scientific visualization and modelling.
Written entirely in Standard C++ and OpenGL it runs on all Windows platforms, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, IRIX, Solaris and FreeBSD operating systems.
There is enormous potential to use this as an engine for 3D visualisation and GIS renderings. The source code is available for download, to modify according to your project needs.

Openlab3
Posted by Administrator under Open SourceOpenlab hosts their third event at Autotalia, in Peckham, London. Openlab engages in the aesthetics and politics of Free Open Source Software Culture. Free Software Culture seeks to emphasise a parenthesis of the creative process by making all stages of development available to others, enabling them to learn how the creation works and alter it for their own purposes.
I will show a few images, but will be there mainly to view it. Artists include Openlab veterans; Alex Mc Clean (Slub), David Griffith (Fluxus), Chun Lee and more. Its not FLOSS poshness either! I use FLOSS! you can download the flyer here : openlab3_A6flyer.pdf
